Who We Are
The Mount Airy Junior Woman's Club (MAJWC) was founded and chartered in 1947 and consists of women between the ages of 18 and 45. MAJWC is affiliated with the General Federation of Womens Clubs, a national organization, and the North Carolina Federation of Womens Clubs. MAJWC is open to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide volunteer services to our community through civic, cultural, educational, and social activities. We also provide leadership and fellowship opportunities to our members, our families, and our community. Civic betterment has always held first place in the club's interest. Full support is given to all National, State, and local projects. In the recent past we have supported Surry Medical Ministries, Reeves Community Foundation, Project Shoes for Kids, Habitat for Humanity, 5K on the Greenway, Build a Dream Playground, The Shepards House, The Mount Airy Public Library, and The Childrens Home of Surry.
Socials and Fun
In addition to community service, the Mount Airy Junior Womans Club provides fellowship opportunities to the members several times a year. We enjoy activities like the Easter Egg Hunt, Playground Ice Cream social, Chinese Auction, Ornament Painting party, and Secret Sisters. We also encourage members to attend District and State meetings to share ideas and knowledge with clubs across the state.
